Leadership Coaching

Very few are born with exceptional leadership skills.  We coach people to become more effective as leaders, reach their goals, build their skills and capacities, and manage challenges successfully.

Janus Development Group uses coaching and the confidential, supportive environment it provides to expand and stretch a client’s skills. Coaching can reduce the “static” surrounding us and which often drowns out the clarity of our own inner voice of truth.  Janus Development Group believes all clients possess the ability to be creative and resourceful.  Using initial assessment and feedback interviews as a foundation, we support the client as they identify their goals.  During the coaching relationship which is typically six months, the Janus Development Group coaching model is supportive and challenging as the client works to grow and develop as a leader.

We offer coaching to individuals who:

  • Want to be more effective in leading and managing
  • Desire to identify and clarify their vision and purpose
  • Seek to overcome what is holding them back from realizing their goals
  • Wish to expand their leadership capacities
  • Will develop practices that will continue to sustain them when the coaching relationship has accomplished its objectives

New Leader Assimilation
Whether the leader is new to the company or new to their role, the workshop enables the leader to gain insights that could take months to discover.  First, the existing team describes their current challenges and opportunities.  The new leader then shares their leadership philosophy and style which sets the foundation for a dialogue which has proven to increase both leader’s and team’s effectiveness.

Leader As Coach
Leader as Coach provides a development opportunity for managers to learn to coach associates for growth and performance.  Each session lasts for three hours once a month over a four to six month period.  Participants understand the framework for coaching using powerful questioning, listening, and clear communications within a model of accountability.

Team and Group Coaching
Based upon the Magus Group Coaching Model, Janus Development Group and its team of coaches can work with your intact team to improve its collective performance.  Center for Creative Leadership research shows that most skills and competency development occurs through on the job activities versus traditional classroom training (70 percent on the job; 20 percent from working with other people to support their development and 10 percent from reading and coursework). Individual coaching is provided to the team leader in between group sessions.  Customized for the client’s objectives, team coaching engagements are typically four to twelve months long.
